Who is hosted by?
What’s brewing is hosted by beer authorities Glen Macnow and Joe Sixpack (Don Russell) with Sierra Guenst. Glen Macnow is a writer, presenter, and instructor at St. Joseph’s University. He was recognized as “The Best Sportswriter in Philadelphia” by Philadelphia magazine. He co-hosts this show with Don Russell.
Don is also called Joe Sixpack. Joe is the creator and founding executive director of Philly Beer Week. It is a non-profit organization promoting Philadelphia as “America’s Best Beer-Drinking City.” Joe is an engaging speaker in the world of beer and offers fun. He is a leading beer reporter in the United States. Don is writing a weekly column in the Philadelphia Daily News about the lively world of beer drinking. He has been named Beer Writer of the year twice at the Great American Beer Festival.
Season 1
What’s brewing premiered on 22nd September 2018. It consists of 16 episodes. The last episode aired on 12th January 2019. The first season of What’s brewing lasted for 4 months. From episode one to fourteen, Glen and Don Russell explore Pennsylvania’s beer scene, highlighting beer trails, pubs, and restaurants. Then in episode 15 both of them discuss their favorite beers from the year 2018. Joe also explains the story of how Philadelphia became one of America’s best beer cities. However, there are no TV airings over the next 14 days.
Season 2
Season 2 of What’s brewing started on 16th May 2019. It also consists of 15 episodes. The final episode aired on the 1st of January 2019. One episode runs for around 30 minutes. All the episodes focus on beer trails, pubs, and restaurants.
Season 3, 4 and 5
Season 3 starts on 20th October 2019. And it has 20 episodes in it. Then Season 4 started on 8th November 2020. The first episode of season 1 is named “Taskers Beer Barn.” The last episode of Season 5 is named “Ship Bottom Blendery and Barrel House Season Finale.” It aired on 13th March 2022. They did it in a Barrel house as a party. Macnow promised to see you next season with Joe Sixpack on What’s Brewing. It means there is another season to come.
