This flying shopping cart makes sci-fi real and changes how we shop

Korean researchers have developed a flying shopping cart called Palletrone. Now, you can enjoy a unique shopping experience without pushing old, bulky carts with wheels.

The Seoul National University of Science and Technology research team led by Seung Jae Lee has introduced this incredible flying cart. 

The Palletrone flying cart has several unique features, such as admission control system, Q-filter, human-robot interaction, and stability while hovering. These features make the functions more effective.

Unique features and functionality

The propellers with vector rotors allow the cart to move in any direction without losing stability. The Palletrone can move or spin in six directions: up, down, backward, forward, and side to side. 

According to the operator’s pushes and pulls, the Palletrone adjusts its movements. When it’s loaded with the weight, the sensors of the cart detect the changes and maintain stability. 

The operator can also add rotational force by twisting or turning the handle. The rotors of the Palletrone adjust the imbalances continuously no matter how the operator moves the handle. 

The Q-filter technology minimizes the unwanted motions of the cart and ensures the drone doesn’t react to the small unnecessary disturbances. 

This flying cart can hover in the mid-air without any movements. It can also maintain zero roll and pitch by keeping its body perfectly level.
