Heart Foundation Warns| No Amount of Alcohol is Good for Heart Health

Dr. Gerry Devlin, the foundation’s medical director highlighted that any amount of alcohol is not beneficial for heart health. The Relationship Between Alcohol and High Blood Pressure:

New studies have confirmed a strong connection between alcohol consumption and high blood pressure. Dr. Devlin revealed that roughly 20 to 30 percent of adults presently suffer from high blood pressure. The occurrence rising mainly among individuals aged 65 and above. The updated theories highlight the evidence of alcohol consumption to this condition. Forcing individuals to reconsider the impact of alcohol on their heart health.

The Relationship Between Alcohol and Heart Rhythm Disorder and Stroke:

Consumption of alcohol can affect the risk of heart rhythm disorders, such as atrial fibrillation, which becomes more common as individuals begin to age. These rhythm disorders can lead to the risk of stroke. The Heart Foundation’s studies concentrate on the effects of alcohol consumption, and this can have a negative impact on heart health.

Previous Misconceptions Removed

Previously, it was proved that moderate consumption of alcohol, mostly red wine, might have some health benefits. However, Dr. Devlin stressed that these were initially done on small observational studies and had low significant evidence.
