This brass device collects tears, freezes them with dry ice, and fires them as frozen bullets—a poetic middle finger to the harsh critiques she endured in silence.
Originally from Taiwan, Chen struggled with cultural norms of not questioning authority, until her graduation project at Dutch Design Week 2016 became her voice.
‘I wanted to transform my vulnerability into strength,’ Chen said about her creation.
Her project stunned audiences, especially when she aimed the gun at her department head during the graduation ceremony—an act that left everyone speechless.
