The rapid development of technologies leads to the emergence of new professions. According to Sergey Kartashov (Sergejs Kartasovs), Senior Partner of the technology company Roosh, the future is with data architects, 3D virtual reality artists, digital linguists, and IoT developers.

The expert says that the pandemic boosted innovation and encouraged technology upgrading. Many businesses implemented new tools to work remotely, and start-uppers focused on online or virtual projects. Sergey Kartashov notices that 9 out of 14 jobs of the future require highly developed digital skills. The digitalization process has progressively involved banking, trade, education, medicine, and other sectors of life. When millennials that freely use gadgets become the oldest generation, the digitalization process will be accomplished.

With the development of virtual reality, specialists that work with AR, VR, and MR technologies will become particularly in demand. Considering Barbados to become the first country with an embassy in the Metaverse, virtual reality is an integral part of life where not only individuals and groups but also communities and indeed countries can interact.

Sergey Kartashov assumes that the profession of a 3D modeler will become popular and highly paid because such industries as gaming, education, surgery, archeology, and others will use VR technologies. “Microsoft along with the Ministry of Culture and Sports in Greece introduced the world a virtual copy of ancient Olympia with a possibility to take a walk around an ancient polis using a gadget. There is no time machine yet, but VR tools already allow people to plunge into the past,” says the speaker.

Another perspective area is the production of so-called “digital twins”, 3D models that copy high-priced products such as spacecraft, power-generation equipment, etc. This technology saves money and allows running simulations and generating improvements on the 3D model, and later implementing changes to the original object.

Digital linguists will extend the scope of use of their knowledge. Such tasks as teaching algorithms to identify errors or working with neural networks will become usual and in high demand from different industries. 

Sergey Kartashov explains that digital and natural languages ​​have a lot in common: “A good digital linguist requires the same qualities as a classical one: a good memory, impeccable literacy, systemic thinking, perseverance, and the ability to focus on performing monotonous work.”

Internet of Things technologies require developers that can work on them. According to the businessman, the principle of the “smart home” will be applied in smart factories, stations, or other objects of urban infrastructure. 

Medicine has been revolutionized by Artificial Intelligence. This technology is promising for diagnostics, collecting data, identifying pathologies, and treatment. Kartashov says that many medical startups are looking for smart solutions to build sensors into the human body to measure health indicators. 

There are plenty of opportunities in the modern world to acquire a high-demand occupation and be able to change the world through the development of new technologies and mind-blowing solutions.
