Founded in Melbourne, Australia, in 2018, Flyypod is the result of Schofield’s 30+ years of global travel experience. Before creating Flyypod, Schofield held leadership roles in fashion.
He served as Men’s Design Director for Trent Nathan and Wayne Cooper. This background inspired him to solve a common problem for travelers: discomfort during long-haul flights.
The Sleep Pod addresses this issue by providing a compact, lightweight, and washable travel accessory. It “fits over the headrest of your plane seat and extends all the way to the floor,” creating a cozy, hygienic space.

Despite their enthusiasm, the $300 price point raised concerns. Jane Lu strongly urged Schofield to lower the price to $199, a suggestion he later adopted.
