Casa Roma update 2024 – Where are they now?
Casa Roma had been through a transformative journey with Gordon Ramsay’s visit. Despite the setback with the undercooked chicken dish, it seemed like the team had been really coming together under Gordon’s guidance. With Drew’s talent as head chef and Gordon’s expertise in pizza-making, they were on the right track to success.
Gordon revisited Casa Roma later at the end of Season 3 in Episode 13 two years after the initial visit of Casa Roma. He discovered that Chew Drew had left and Nyla was the sole owner of the restaurant. Gordon encounters Q, the new head chef of Casa Roma and former employee of Sebastian’s (which was also featured on Kitchen Nightmares), in an intriguing turn of events.
Nylah reported that Casa Roma now accommodates 28-30 dinner guests each night, indicating a notable uptick in business, up by at least 33% since the Kitchen Nightmares episode. Furthermore, Gordon revealed a delightful surprise: the restaurant will be honored with a certificate from the local Chamber of Commerce, recognizing their remarkable transformation.
After Gordon’s revisit, Casa Roma reverted to its previous menu, abandoning Gordon’s new menu. Rumors circulated that the owners had been writing their own reviews. The restaurant underwent another name change, becoming The AV Roadhouse Restaurant Bar & Grill, with a streamlined menu. It was briefly renamed CR Roadhouse in mid-2015, employing staff from the recently closed Nico’s restaurant, and underwent another menu change. Yelp reviews for both AV and CR Roadhouse were largely negative. Eventually, the restaurant returned to its original name, Casa Roma, but unfortunately closed for good in July 2017.
As of 2024, the place is occupied by the banquet hall named Salon Garibaldi Events and has not received any good reviews from it’s customers.
What happened to the owners of Casa Roma?
Nyla worked as a bookkeeper, at Vons, and as a freelance writer after Casa Roma closed. According to Nyla’s Facebook page, she is retired as of 2024.
