Barbara Corcoran, the well-known real estate mogul and star of Shark Tank, has built a career around luxury and high-end properties. She is famous for her sharp business skills and her love for upscale living.
But surprisingly, Barbara, with all her wealth and grand apartments, chooses to live in a mobile home. Why would someone like her make such an unexpected choice? Let’s see why she has fallen in love with Mobile Home.
A Love for Beautiful Views
Barbara Corcoran has always had a passion for properties with stunning views. Even with her success and wealth, she has always appreciated simple pleasures.
“I saw this trail of the park; there was another one that with Douglas could be up two streets up, and I like this one my best because it had the best view,” she says.
For Barbara, it’s not about how big or fancy a property is, but how beautiful it looks. She admits, “The whole view is gorgeous; it’s the reason I fell in love with the place.”
Her love for scenic views is so strong that she couldn’t resist buying the mobile home just for its amazing view.
This love for views isn’t new for Barbara. When talking about her $15 million NYC apartment, she once said, “The real reason I bought the apartment is because of the Terrace and the view.”
For her, waking up to a stunning view every day brings a joy that no luxury feature can provide.
The Love for a Simpler Life
Barbara’s decision to buy the mobile home wasn’t just about the view. It was about finding a simpler, more meaningful way to live.
She wanted a place to relax and enjoy the beauty around her. When she first saw the mobile home with its incredible view, she knew she had to have it.
“I saw this trail of the park… I knocked on the door, and she said no, I’m not selling, but I’ll sell in a year. And I said no, I really want it now,” Barbara recalls.
Her determination to own this property shows how much she wanted a place that could bring her peace and joy.
No one believes
Barbara’s choice to buy a mobile home surprised many people. Her friends, family, and even her assistant were caught off guard by her decision.
For someone known for her luxurious lifestyle, a mobile home seemed like a strange choice. “People think I’m crazy, but I do, yeah; I’m happiest here; it’s so nice,” Barbara says, responding to those who were puzzled by her decision.
Despite the doubts from people who thought she should live in a more traditional, fancy home, Barbara stayed firm in her choice. She knew the happiness she found in her new home was worth more than what others thought.
Creating Her Happy Place
Barbara was determined to make the mobile home a place that truly made her happy. She went ahead and bought it, spending about $800,000 mainly because of the amazing view.
Barbara put in another $150,000 to renovate it, turning it into a cozy and inviting space. She added personal touches like leftover tiles from her New York apartment and upgraded the outdoor terrace to enjoy the stunning landscape even more.
“Let me show you my roses that I grew; none of the plants were here. This is what I spend most of my time planting. Smell that jasmine, yeah, the best smell in the world,” she shares, showing how much she loves simple joys like gardening and the fragrance of flowers.
It was not easy
Living in a mobile home brought new challenges for Barbara. Adjusting to a smaller space required her to be creative and change some of her habits.
She jokes about the quirks of her new home, like the tiny fridge that only has room for wine and a showerhead that “almost hurts you.” “Look how little it is darling I feel like I’m playing it only has wine in it”
She even laughs about taking out the trash, saying, “It’s a long walk it’s only the end of the driveway what I want to get off my chest honestly is the garbage bit is too far hi Mary I’m going in the garbage, see she takes garbage by car”
Despite these small challenges, Barbara enjoys her new life, especially the beautiful view she wakes up to every morning.
A New Realization
Living in the mobile home helped Barbara realize something important: the happiness she was looking for wasn’t about luxury or status, but about enjoying her surroundings and living simply.
“I’m happiest here; it’s so nice,” she admits. The beautiful view that first drew her to the property is still her favorite part, confirming her belief that a home’s true beauty isn’t about its size or luxury, but about how it makes you feel.
She says, “No, I wouldn’t. I have no plan to leave it. The view is so nice; you would never leave that. I’m just so happy they drove into that view whenever they did. Maybe I’ll never leave; maybe I’ll just stay.”
Finding a New Balance
Barbara has found a new balance in her life, blending her successful career with her love for simple living. She continues living in her mobile home, enjoying its peace and beauty.
Her experience challenges the usual ideas of living well and shows that true happiness can come from living simply. Barbara remains committed to her choice, finding joy in her “Taj Mahal” with its million-dollar view, knowing she has found a place where she can truly be herself.
