In mid 2012, They opened second branch in downtown Atlanta at 161 Peachtree Center Aveter 8 days of opening.

The original Michon’s BBQ location from Kitchen Nightmares closed sometime around 2015 following years struggle to recover from the financial difficulties.

Michon’s Smokehouse update 2024 – Where are they now?

Following the positive publicity after the episode aired in 2012, they seized the opportunity and opened a second branch in downtown Atlanta at 161 Peachtree Center Ave, Atlanta, Georgia 30303, in March of the same year.

However, It’s regrettable that second Michon’s Smokehouse encountered a setback with the fire at their downtown Atlanta establishment shortly after its opening. This event likely posed significant challenges for them, particularly following the initial success and favorable publicity garnered from Kitchen Nightmares.

However the original Michon’s restaurant survived for another three years after the kitchen Nightmares episode aired in 2012 and finally closed down in 2015. As of 2024, the old Michon’s Smokehouse College Park location is occupied by an Ethiopian restaurant named Bole. It seems to have pretty good reviews about friendly staff and delicious food , with a 4 star rating on its Yelp page.

What happened to the owners of Michon’s Smokehouse?

Al Wilson , the owner of the Michon’s Sadly passed away in 2018. Following Michon’s Restaurant closure, Natalie held roles as an operations manager for a catering service and as a marketing representative. In 2020, she established Heir Tight, a platform enabling people to securely store and convey their posthumous wishes. In 2023, she founded a new startupcalled Game ChangHER.
