Kettle Gryp was founded by Daniel Sheppard and Andrew Thomas in 2016. Daniel is the president of Pangolin Design Group and co-creator of Kettle Gryp. Originally from upstate New York, he’s owned a small business in San Diego since 1998 and does volunteer work for Make-A-Wish San Diego. Another founder, Andy Thomas, co-founded Kettle Gryp and was the CEO of Pangolin Design Group. He graduated from Clemson University in construction science and engineering, served as a helicopter pilot in the U.S. Marine Corps for 20 years. Unfortunately, Thomas, aged 47, passed away on December 16, 2021, after battling cancer at Emory Hospital in Atlanta, Georgia.
