Scientists at Kaiwa Technology in Guangzhou are building the world’s first humanoid ‘pregnancy robot’ with an artificial womb. This bot mimics a full-term pregnancy, complete with synthetic amniotic fluid and nutrients delivered via a hose, aiming to ‘birth’ a live baby after nine months. “We want to integrate a gestation chamber into a humanoid robot and build an artificial womb so it can carry a full-term pregnancy ‘in the wild,’” said Dr. Zhang Qifeng, founder of Kaiwa Technology.
