Since the episode aired in 2005 many are wondering whether D-PLACE is still open or closed. As of 2024, D-PLACE is closed in Chelmsford, London nearly 20 years after Gordon Ramsay’s visit.
D-PLACE came to shutdown the same year which Gordon Ramsay visited the restaurant. It was shutdown due to financial difficulties. Because of its inability to pay its debts.

D-PLACE update 2024 – Where are they now?
D-Place shuttered approximately a month post the Gordon Ramsay’s visit due to financial struggles, leading to receivership and subsequent sale of its lease. The business was acquired by new proprietors who rebranded it as The Saracen’s Head. Under this new identity, it flourished for over a decade, with Philippe Blaise retained as head chef. Regrettably, both The Saracen’s Head and its affiliated hotel ceased operations in July 2019. As of 2024, a new bar named ” The Garrison Tavern” is being operated in the same place.

Israel Pons is now the CEO and Co-Founding Partner of Angels Nest LATAM, Which is an Investment Network operating in Mexico and LATAM. Moreover, he is the Head of the Global Investors Department, WBAF Business School.
