Where To Stream The Oscar Nominees

As the 95th Academy Awards draws closer, it is time to take a look at the nominations for this year. The last year was packed with great movies and cinematography, but alas, only a few can get nominated and even fewer can win awards. So, while we wait for the winners, why not look for yourself and see why the movies were nominated and if they are worthy enough to win?

While we can’t mention all of the nominations (as it would take up too much of your time), we can talk about a few that you can stream from home. As long as you have a good internet connection, you can stream these movies on a streaming site.

A more crucial factor that you will need to look at is the kind of internet connection you have. Our recommendation would be to look into Xfinity’s internet plans. Xfinity has a range of speed tiers and its plans are packed with wonderful benefits. Xfinity availability is also not a problem as it is one of the biggest providers in the U.S.

Once you have settled on an internet provider, you can then come back to this list and look at the movies!

Aftersun

One of the best types of movies is the one where nothing really happens, yet there’s so much happening. How is that possible? Well, that’s something you will understand when you watch this movie. Aftersun is the story of a divorced dad and his daughter on a vacation in the ‘90s.

We see how much the father loves his daughter, but there are some things he is struggling with at the same time. It’s a simple movie that leaves an impact on you. The actor, Paul Mescal, who plays the father, is nominated for Best Actor. This movie is available on Amazon Prime for streaming.

All Quiet on the Western Front

It doesn’t matter how many war movies have been made. There is always another perspective and it’s always a terrifying and sad one. This movie is quite the same and it captures the ugly realities of war through a new 18-year-old recruit’s eyes.

We quickly see the boy turn from an eager teenager to just another soldier trying to make it through another day. If you are big on history, this movie is sure to be one of your favorites. The movie is nominated for multiple awards, some of them being Best Picture, Best Cinematography, Best Production Design, and more. To stream this movie, you can find it on Netflix.

Everything Everywhere All at Once

You must have all seen the Multiverse of Madness or even heard about it. This movie is pretty much the same, except it lacks the Marvel characters and the action. This movie leans more toward comedy and it shows how people have learned to jump from one universe to another via their alternate selves.

But that’s not all. They can also absorb new skills from their alternate selves and bring them back with them to their own universe. To initiate the jump from one universe to another, however, you will have to do something unexpected. This movie is nominated for multiple awards, some of which are Best Picture, Best Editing, Best Original Score, and plenty more. You can stream this movie on Paramount+.

Top Gun: Maverick

Sequels are always tricky in the sense that they don’t live up to their original parts, especially if the first movie was very successful. However, this movie might just have knocked it out of the park by being even better than the original or so, many people think.

Maverick, played by Tom Cruise (who else could do a great job as a washed-out action hero?), is simply a has-been up until there is an illegal uranium processing plant somewhere out there and a near-impossible bombing mission that needs to be carried out. As fate would have it, he is sent back to Top Gun academy to train a new batch for the mission. This movie is nominated for Best Visual Effects, Best Sound, Best Picture, and plenty more. You can stream it on Paramount+.

Elvis

This movie is a work of art for one reason and one reason only. Instead of digging into and reading too much into Elvis’s life and every action, you get to see the rise of the singer, his passion for everything he did, and ultimately, his death.

This movie is a celebration of Elvis’s career and it simply provides you with a perspective but does not overwhelm you. We also get to see the relationship between Elvis and his manager, which started out as a beneficial one and soon after, turned into something exploitative. This movie is nominated for Best Sound, Best Costume Design, Best Cinematography, and much more. This movie is available for streaming on HBO Max.

What Are You Watching First?

That makes five Oscar-nominated movies for this year. As we mentioned before, there are plenty of movies that are Oscar nominees, but maybe, we’ll get to that in another blog. For now, we are curious to know: Which one will you be watching first?
