The ability to cast your spells in the game depends on having the right combination at the right moment. The Warlock Statistics

Statistics play a critical role in the spells a Warlock will be able to cast. For Warlocks, their Charisma is their primary spellcasting ability. It’s best to choose it as your first attribute.
Your choice of Pact will determine the choice of attributes following Charisma and their order. Experience and guidance will help choose the best combination to get the most out of the game’s bonuses and rewards. These attributes also have a direct bearing on the spells you’ll be able to cast.
As mentioned, Warlocks come with a limited number of spell slots, forcing you to select yours wisely. Their first level list contains two Cantrips and Spells. Cantrips, and their Eldritch Invocations, are not spells, as Cantrips don’t give you the privilege to swap them at a later stage. Cantrips aid you in your early levels, with Eldritch coming to their own later.
The good thing is that Warlocks are Arcane casters, meaning you can put the Component Pouch vs. Arcane Focus debate to rest. You can choose either, and though they are similar at the outset, they have a few differences between them.
Component pouches contain the material components and associated Special Items needed to cast your spells. They come in small sizes and are waterproof. They have a leather belt for tying them. The arcane focus also gets used for the same purpose, except that it comes in different forms. Usually, these are objects that characters use in the game’s universe. Examples include crystal, orb, rod, staff, and wand. Your DM also has a veto on this; they can allow you to use any item of your choice as an arcane focus.
