Scarlett Johansson is one of the most famous American actresses born in New York City. Johansson, a celebrity of both American and Danish descent, has appeared in more than 30 films and directed and produced various movies since her debut in 1994. 

In 2012, the actress was rewarded as Time’s 100 Most Influential People in the World. When she was a young kid, eager to pursue an acting career, her mother gave her the middle name “Robyn”, after Robin Williams.

Johansson was a member of the 1998 Broadway revival of “A View from the Bridge, “alongside Kenneth Branagh and Liev Schreiber. 

She has also played supporting roles in “The Horse Whisperer” (1998) and Peter Jackson’s “The Lord of the Rings” film trilogy (2001–03), playing the elf Arwen Undómiel. Johansson started her acting during childhood when her mother initiated taking her to screenings and movie auditions. 

Recently, Scarlett Johansson has signed on to star in The Sea Change – a drama focusing on the feature directorial debut of Oscar-nominated actress Kristin Scott Thomas, which is presently in making and soon to be produced. The film is based on Elizabeth Jane Howard, the 1959 novel.  

Johansson grabbed her two Oscar nominations in 2020 for her shots in Noah Baumbach’s custody-battle drama the Marriage Story and Taika Waititi’s satire Jojo Rabbit. The actress was also particularly famous with the American Cinematheque Award in November last year. 

She recently reinterpreted her role as Natasha Romanoff (aka Black Widow) for Disney’s Marvel pic of the same name, and she will next appear in Wes Anderson’s Asteroid City. Other future ventures comprise the Apple tentpole Project Artemis with her Avengers charter co-star Chris Evans, and Sebastián Lelio’s drama Bride, which she will produce for Disney.

The Scarlett Johansson cast of “My Mother’s Wedding” symbolizes the feature directorial debut of “The English Patient” star Kristin Scott Thomas.

This movie also casts “The Lost City of Z” star Sienna Miller, Emily Beecham of “Little Joe” fame, and Freida Pinto.

Further facts about the film’s plot are not yet revealed, but it is acknowledged that Thomas wrote the script with John Micklethwait.

Earlier in 2017, it was stated that Thomas, also recognized for series such as “Fleabag” and “Slow Horses.” was assembling her feature directorial debut with “The Sea Change.” based on Elizabeth Jane Howard’s novel.

‘My Mother’s Wedding’ plot

The movie plot focuses on the three sisters who find reappearance in their childhood home for their twice-widowed mother, Diana’s, third wedding. The three sisters have apparent differences in who they are, with Georgina as a nurse, Victoria as a movie star, and Katherine as a captain in the Navy. 

In ‘ My Mother’s Wedding, ‘ Hollywood actresses Scarlett Johansson and Sienna Miller can be found performing the roles of siblings to each other. 

Emily Beecham also appears in the movie as one of the sisters. On the other hand, film director Scott Thomas will be found playing the role of mother, Diana. Scott Thomas will be seen playing mother to Johansson for the third time. She has played the role of mother to the star in ‘The Horse Whisperer’ and ‘The Other Boleyn Girl. 

Even though it is Scott Thomas’ foremost involvement in directing a movie, she is an Oscar-nominated actor. Scott, who has appeared in blockbuster films considering ‘As the English Patient,’ ‘Four Weddings and a Funeral,’ and ‘Gosford Park,’ expressed interest in directing in 2017. In an interview, Scott Thomas said, “I have wanted to direct for a long time, and it was thrilling to create this fictional family using my childhood memories as a springboard,” 

Although this film marks Kristin Scott Thomas’s directorial debut, according to the News report, it is confirmed that the shooting is about to end, although there is no release date confirmed yet.
