Hamdog is an invention of Mark Murray which featured in Shark Tank Australia. Hamdog is the combination of a hamburger and a hot dog, with a regular patty, in addition to a hot dog sausage going right through the middle of it. With this brilliant or some might say silly invention you don’t need to choose between a burger and a hotdog ever. You can have both in a Hamdog. Mark Murray’s pitch for the Shark Tank was 25% equity of his Hamdog business for just 1$. Ingredients for Hamdog (04 Servings)

  • 1 lb grounded lean beef
  • 1 large egg
  • 1/2 cup of finely chopped onions
  • 1/4 cup of fine dried bread crumbs
  • 1 tablespoon of Worcestershire
  • 2 minced cloves garlic, without skin
  • 4 large sausages
  • 4 hamdog buns
  • 8 thick slices of a ripped tomato
  • 8 thick slices of a ripped tomato
  • 1 liter of water
  • 8 slices of cheese
  • salt
  • black pepper
  • 8 slices of pickles
  • sauces of your choice

How to make the Hamdog

Making Hamdog Patties

  • To a large bowl, mix minced beef, egg, chopped onion, garlic, salt, pepper and Worcestershire sauce until all are well-blended.
  • Make 4 equal-sized patties of about 4 inches wide and divide them into two equal halves.
  • Put oil on the grill grate and cook the beef patties until they turn your favorite beef patty color.

Preparing the Sausages

  • Take 1 liter of water to a saucepan and boil the sausages.
  • Once the water has boiled, carefully remove the sausages.

Making the Hamodog

  • Take out the hamdog buns and toast them in a saucepan.
  • Place the two halves of the beef patty on the semicircles and put the sausage in between.
  • Top each of them with 2 slices of cheese, tomatoes, pickles and lettuce.

You can consume a Hamdog as a complete meal. Basically Hamdog has all the essential proteins, carbohydrates and fats. In addition, vegetables in the Hamdog provide vitamins and minerals. One serving of a Hamdog contains approximately 623 calories including 315 calories from fat.
