I recently bought a few STORMBAGs to prepare for the rainy season. I followed the instructions carefully, and while some of the bags expanded and hardened as expected, a few didn’t seem to work at all. Has anyone else experienced this? I’m curious to know if there’s something I’m missing or if it’s a common issue.

Maybe the STORMBAGs are like my cooking—hit or miss! 😄 But seriously, that’s odd. Have you tried shaking them before use?

Haha, I did shake them! But still, some just stayed flat.

Probably just a bad batch. Were they all from the same pack?

How exactly did you store them, Weston? I wonder if temperature or humidity might have affected them.

Stored them in a cool, dry place as recommended.

Humidity can definitely affect these. They absorb moisture from the air.

I had a similar experience. Some of the bags worked perfectly, but a couple didn’t react. I think it might be a manufacturing inconsistency. Maybe contacting the company could help?

Good point, I might just do that.

Wouldn’t surprise me if it’s a quality control issue.

Are we sure these things aren’t just glorified sandbags? 🤔

They should be more reliable than that. That’s the whole point!

I’ve been hesitant to try them because of mixed reviews. Weston, do you think they’re worth it overall?

Overall, when they work, they’re great. But this inconsistency is concerning.

There’s a technical aspect to consider. If the chemical reaction isn’t happening, it might be due to expired components or poor sealing. Did you check the expiration date?

Yes, they’re within the date. But that’s a good point about the sealing

    Overrated.

I can’t stand when products don’t work as advertised. This kind of inconsistency is unacceptable. If you can’t trust them, what’s the point?

Exactly, Dave. Reliability is key, especially for something like this.

Could be user error, too. No offense, but did you follow every step exactly?

No offense taken, I did follow the instructions to the letter.

Maybe the issue is with specific batches? Has anyone else noticed if certain production dates are more reliable?

Interesting thought. My problematic bags were from a newer batch.
