1.  Disturbed joint 

Disturbing point is the result of the movement occurring in the alloy that is solidified. Movement occurring in the joints is the main cause of the mistakes. These reasons can be attributed to the mechanical, human or both can be involved.

2. Untrimmed leads

Untrimmed leads themselves mean that they have quite long led that cause the errors to happen. As long leads are susceptible to coming in contact with the other leads that can lead to the short circuit and other issues in the lead. When the lead is uncut the possibility of it coming into contact with traces increases and it is something that can be avoided.

3. Cold solder joint

It is important for the solder to melt properly and if it does not melt properly then mistakes of the cold solder joint are bound to appear due to lack of proper supply of heat. Cold solder joints are hard and different in appearance. This solder mistake tends to weaken the joints, raising the chances of its failures. The mistakes can occur at any point of time and they can crack at any time. 

4. Solder bridge

Solder bridge mistakes are the results of excessive application of solder. Excessive solder can result in joints melting leading to the mistake. Because of this, there is a break in the connection, affecting the overall function of the board. You have to ensure that there is only enough soldering present between the joints with a hot iron tip or solder wick. You can measure the amount of the solder required in the joints and you can use them to bridge the gap between the errors. With the proper testing you can easily detect the error.

5. Solder-starved Joint

In this, a solder does not have the sufficient solder. When you try to make the electrical connection, the amount of solder weakens the joint and increases the chances of failures and errors. You have to make sure that sufficient solder is present to avoid the possibility of the error.
