This blog is your guide to AC maintenance and installation. Read it properly and keep your AC last longer.
Guide to the Installation of indoor AC Unit
Strength of the wall
Make sure you are installing the indoor unit, i.e., split AC on a strong wall. The wall should be strong enough to hold the weight of the AC. Split ACs are quite heavy and can ruin the strength of the wall if it’s not strong.
Spacing between wall and AC
You should keep in your mind that the AC unit needs space to breathe and circulate the air in the room in the right way. The area should have 15 CM open space for the proper AC airflow.
To experience the optimal performance and cooling all around in the room, you should mount your split AC 7-8 feet above ground level. If you’ll keep the height of your AC low, it’s not going to reduce the room temperature properly.
Title angle system
While fitting the aluminium bracket of an indoor unit of split AC on the indoor wall, make sure to give a slight tilt angle. Why? It’s because if the AC is fitted in a tilted position, it betters the flow of the condensed water from the drain pipe.
While installing the indoor AC, you should make sure that the place you are choosing for AC fitting doesn’t have any hindrance and sunlight.

Measurement of the window frame
Measure the window frame properly so that the window AC fits perfectly without any space in the window.
The place where you are installing your AC should have proper ventilation. Make sure the back region of your AC is exposed to a well-ventilated region.
Condensed water drainage
Find a place where either water drains properly. If it’s not exuding properly, then keep a bucket beneath the AC for water collection.
Make sure to install AC 3-4 feet above ground level for the best cooling performance.
AC maintenance tips
Dirty and clogged air filters obstruct the normal flow of air and reduce the cooling capacity of AC. So, it’s better if you clean your AC filters properly for better airflow in the room.
Cover up the compressor unit during winters
There is no use of AC during winters, so it’s better to keep it covered with a cloth to prevent dust and dirt from entering the unit.
Do not miss an AC service
Before the onset of the summer season, get your AC services from a professional. Whenever you get professional AC services, don’t forget to check all the AC parts like coils, compressor, fins, filters, drains etc.
Unclog the rear drain
If the rear drain is blocked, the water trapped inside the AC will not find space to go out and drain from every opening into the room. When there is no air in the water within the AC unit, the humidity level also rises in the room.
